Meeting Minutes
May 23, 2010

Opening:

Chairperson Mark L. called to order the regular meeting of the Central Oregon Intergroup, Inc. Date: May 23, 2010. Time: 5:30 PM. Place: TEC, Bend. Attendance sheet was passed.

Verified eligible voters and a quorum established.

A.        Approval of Minutes

The minutes of the previous meeting (April 25, 2010) were read. Minutes approved as read.

B.        Treasurer’s Report

Hank G. presented the Treasurers report. Report was approved. Noted that “year to date” column is missing from group donations page.

C.       Committee Reports:

Alanon: Not present.

District 5 Liaison: Wayne S. reported for Dave W.. Working on budgets. Dist. 5 is currently promoting and planning more workshops. Seeking groups to host workshops. There is great opportunity for Dist. 5 and Intergroup to work together.

Entertainment: Heidi S. brought flyers for upcoming events (Cline Falls Picnic and Ochoco Campout). Working on getting area groups to help with functions. Prineville will be helping with the Ochoco Campout and La Pine will be helping with the Paulina Campout.

Next committee meeting will be held on June 10.

Hot Line: Wayne S. is working on getting 12-step lists back from groups. Working on nighttime call logs. Received call logs from 2 people so far. Some shifts are being missed. Has not received a newsletter (is vital to have this). Hotline workshop is scheduled for 6/19/10 at 2:00 PM (TEC). As Men See It will host this workshop. All positions are currently filled. Working on distributing Western Region directories.

Newsletter: Shari A. reported for Theo G. Theo has found another helper. Pat M. stated that people are not receiving newsletters. Asked Shari to tell Theo. Corey S. (Website) has not received a May newsletter either.

Office: Mikey reported Telephone Activity: Office – 113; Hotline – 58; Al-Anon – 10. Income Detail: Books/Lit $700.20; Coins/Misc. $489.60; Newsletter $(1.90); Deposits $2,887.94. Books / Literature and Coins / Misc. sales are down approx. 30% – 40%.

Potluck: Tom R. reported that last night’s potluck was lightly attended. No Alanon speaker. Suggested hosting groups’ work early on getting an Alanon speaker. Wayne S. suggested that hosting groups check with Alanon groups in other towns also (Sun River, Prineville, Redmond). Coffee pots still blowing breakers.

Schedules: Shari A. handed out updated Intergroup phone / e-mail lists. New schedules will be published in June (deadline is June 15).

Website: Cory S. handed out a web traffic report. Stated that he did not receive a newsletter for May. Is posting flyers for upcoming events.

D.        Old Business: Various IGR’s discussed distributions of group donations.

Tom R. stated that the Potluck Committee is considering renting both Brooks Hall and St. Helens Hall for the Thanksgiving Alcothon. Mikey has requested the rent refund from the Community Center, but has not yet received it.

E. New Business: Hank G. has submitted his resignation as Treasurer due to health reasons. IGR’s asked to bring this back to groups. Kendra asked about Treasurer requirements: 2 years sobriety, 2- year term.

Intergroup stated it’s support for the District 5 Hotline Workshop and will post on the website.

Adjournment:

Meeting was adjourned at 6:17 pm. The next meeting will be at 5:30 p.m., June 27, 2010 in Bend at TEC.
