Over 200 people attend the Central Oregon Speaker Meeting the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month. It’s a great meeting to hear in-depth speakers share their experience, strength and hope and a wonderful place for fellowship with other sober members of the program, but we need your help with two things. We are asking the Central Oregon area for help in finding that new building and stepping into the service arena in order to maintain the meeting so many have enjoyed.

  1. Service commitments – We need people to take service commitments or sadly the meeting will end.

It’s time for the people who have held service positions at the Central Oregon Speaker Meeting for over two years to step down and allow others to have the opportunity. That means for the meeting to continue, other people need to step up. We will hold a business meeting on Jan. 20 at 8:30 pm immediately following the speaker meeting for anyone who wants a commitment. If the commitments aren’t filled we will have to close the meeting on March 1. With over 200 people attending each meeting, it shouldn’t be difficult to find people who want to give away what was so freely given to them.  Plus it’s fun and helps you stay sober one more day! If you don’t want to see the meeting go please show up and bring your friends!

  1. Locations – Do you know a place where we can hold the speaker meeting twice a month?

We have been notified by Eastmont Church that effective January 31, 2017 we will no longer be able to use the big room for our meetings. They have offered us the use of their smaller chapel. We appreciate the space, but it only has 25% of the capacity of the main room. This makes it almost impossible to cover our overhead costs and completely impossible to bring in out of town speakers that everyone has enjoyed. Do you know a place that can hold up to 300 people and is affordable? Contact Alli J at 323-333-6366.
